The Perfect Hot Chocolate For Winter
January 26, 2017There’s nothing like a mug of steaming hot chocolate to keep you warm when the cold weather sets in, but a basic hot chocolate powder can only hint at the delicious treat that is real hot chocolate. Enjoy Our Real Hot Chocolate Recipe
- Pick your milk. The real beauty of hot chocolate is that it doesn’t matter whether you use cows milk, almond milk or coconut milk, it’ll still produce a creamy, delicious taste when combined with good chocolate. Pour the milk of your choice into a saucepan, and gently heat until it reaches boiling point.
- Add your chocolate. The key to perfect hot chocolate is to use good quality plain chocolate. Choose fairtrade for an ethical treat, or create a vegan version with dairy free chocolate. You’ll need about 100g for four small mugs, depending on how chocolatey you want it to be. Break up your chocolate into the hot milk, and continue to stir on a low heat until it melts.
- Pour out. When the chocolate has melted into the milk, pour it evenly amongst your mugs and add cold milk to cool if required. Then just pass round the mugs and enjoy!
- Our entertainment. Our entertainment options for adults and children are always a popular part of our programme, but this year the kids will be delighted to meet Billy the Badger, our new woodland character who joins the old favourites this year. Children will love dancing, playing games and having fun, and this means that parents can enjoy a welcome break, too!
