Tourist Information on Cobh
Cobh (pronounced Cove) became the country’s main emigration port following the Great Famine of 1846 – 1848 Following the visit of Queen Victoria in 1849, the town was renamed Queenstown but in 1921, it reverted to the old name of Cobh.
