Waste Management Assistant

Duties

  • To manage waste and recycling materials
  • To develop and maintain collection and sorting of waste/recyclable materials while working alone and sometimes working with colleagues
  • To ensure the health and safety issues related to removal and disposal of waste are addressed to enable guests and staff to use all areas safely
  • To undertake tasks of a similar nature, as directed by your supervisor/ manager Operations Manager
  • To comply with the requirements of Health and Safety
  • To participate in training courses in the use of new equipment as required
  • Regularly check bins, reporting any issues to your line supervisor/ manager who will inform Site Operations
  • Drive and operate the tractor and other related machinery
  • Ensuring that all waste management equipment is maintained to a safe and serviceable condition and that the workshop is kept clean, tidy and organised.
  • Assist with loading of various materials onto tractors and/or trailers
  • The post holder may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post assigned by your line supervisor/manager. The particular duties and responsibilities may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the role or the level of responsibility entailed.

The candidate must have

  • A clean and valid driver’s licence
  • Ability to operate assigned equipment and vehicles e.g. tractor with trailer
  • The ability: to work as part of a team and to use own initiative when appropriate
  • To take direction
  • To be flexible

Trabolgan Holiday Village are now recruiting a Maintenance Person to join us and become part of our maintenance team, that works together to provide the best guest experience for our guests.

Position Requirements

You will be working in our busy environment, and you'll be required to provide on-site support and assistance with regards maintenance issues including painting to all departments and holiday homes with minimal disruption to guests.

Position Attributes

The ideal person should have experience be a good problem solver and enjoy the challenge of working out faults and best ways to repair them. You should be confident in dealing with people and possess good reporting skills. You'll also need to understand the importance of maintaining high standards of quality and service as well as cleanliness. The ability to maintain high energy levels whilst working both efficiently and productively is essential. Finally, your appearance should be smart and clean. As part of your role, you are required to have a full clean driver’s licence.

A valid safe pass card, a manual handling certificate are desirable.
