Creating Family Traditions For Christmas

December 9, 2016

As Christmas time approaches, it’s a good time to think about how you can enjoy the season with your family and friends. Perhaps you have traditions that the children look forward to each year, or maybe it’s time to introduce some new ideas into your festive routine.

Here at Trabolgan Holiday Village, we love to celebrate the end of another super year, and we know that while you’re having a fabulous Christmas, we’ll be making improvements to our facilities and looking forward to sharing them with you in the New Year.

 Our Favourite Family Christmas Ideas:

    1. Make Christmas cards. There’s nothing like crafting together to pass a rainy afternoon, making a bundle of beautiful Christmas cards to impress your nearest and dearest. Pick a simple design online and sit down for a family art session, or simply let the children go wild with the glitter and glue while you relax with a cup of tea!
    2. Collect seasonal decorations. Bringing the outdoors indoors is a lovely way to celebrate the beauty of the season, and it’s great fun collecting pine cones, winter greenery and berries. Try hanging traditional ivy garlands in your home, or spray paint pinecones for a chic wintery look.
    3. Visit the theatre. There’s nothing like a Christmas pantomime or show to get you feeling festive, so find a local production and enjoy the entertainment together. Tickets could be a Christmas gift if you time it right, and it could be the perfect thing to brighten up the quiet time between Christmas and the New Year.
    4. Embrace Christmas music. The carols and songs that surround us at this time of year all help to contribute to the festive mood, so make the most of the music. Play Christmas songs whenever you can and encourage the whole family to sing along – it’s hard to feel the winter blues when you’re singing!

Bake some Christmas treats.

This is a great time of the year to prepare for the festivities ahead, so grab your aprons and cook up a storm in the kitchen. The children can help to chop, stir and lick the bowl, and you’ll all be creating wonderful memories as well as delicious treats.
