Great New Father’s Day Ideas

June 15, 2018

How do you celebrate Father’s Day? If you have young children and you want to make Father’s Day special, take the chance to try something a bit different and start a new Father’s Day tradition to celebrate the special Dad in your lives!

Here at Trabolgan Holiday Village, we know that Dads are magic! We’ve designed our holidays to offer a fantastic family break for everyone, and we know that the adults will have just as much fun as the children when they join in with our exciting activity and entertainment programmes. Whether you’re celebrating Father’s Day at home or away, try some of our ideas to make sure you have a really special day.

5 New Ideas For Father’s Day

  1. Take a holiday. A weekend break is the perfect way to reconnect as a family after a busy week, and is extra special when you’re celebrating an occasion such as Father’s Day. Head to Trabolgan for a fun-filled weekend, and you can try out some of the other ideas on our list while you are away.
  1. Cook a big breakfast. There’s nothing like a big breakfast to start the day, and kids love to get involved with the cooking and decorations. Lay the table up in style, and cook a delicious fry up, or try smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for a special treat. Alternatively, whip up a batch of pancakes and let the kids design some special toppings for Dad!
  1. Take a walk. Children are not always enthusiastic about walking, but a special event can make all the difference. Ask them to pick their favourite ten sights on the walk, or to collect pretty leaves or flowers for Dad as they go. Getting out in the fresh air is a great way to burn off energy and spend time together, and you can finish the walk with a drink or a meal in your local pub to make it extra special.
  1. Have a contest. If the Dad in your family tends to get competitive, he’ll love a bit of a contest to celebrate Father’s Day. Try a swimming race or a round of crazy golf for a family challenge that will get everyone laughing.
  1. Try something new together. Whether you’re on holiday or want to try something new at home, Father’s Day is a great chance to take on a new challenge. You could try climbing or abseiling together if you fancy a taste of adventure, or head to our Pottery Studio or Birds of Prey Centre for something completely different.
