Free Travel Apps You’ll Love

When you’re planning a holiday, it’s always handy to come across something that can make life easier and ensure that you have a great time. We’ve found some excellent apps that can make a holiday more relaxing, and we hope you’ll love them too. If you’ve got a favourite, don’t forget to let us know so that we can add it to our list.

Our Favourite Travel Apps:

1. AroundMe. AroundMe is an app that will give you plenty of helpful tips while you’re exploring a new place in Europe. You can use this as a personal tour guide, making it easier to locate restaurants, museums and other interesting places nearby with ease.
2. Google Translate. We all know that language can be a barrier when we’re travelling abroad, so unless you’re fluent in the language spoken in your destination country, you may find Google Translate very helpful. The app translates up to 90 languages, and has a special function to translate through your camera in 26 languages, too!
3. Hyperlapse. Holiday photos are fantastic, but it’s hard to choose which to share when you have captured so many special memories. Hyperlapse will condense your video or still footage into a timelapse that is easy to share so that everyone can enjoy the full flavor of your holiday.
4. Sunscreen. Worries about sunburn can disrupt the most relaxing day, but this free app will take the stress out of playing in the sunshine. The Sunscreen app detects the UVI ratings around you and lets you know via a helpful timer that it’s time to reapply your sunscreen, adjusting to take your skin type and the SPF of your sunscreen into account. Let’s hope we need this one here in Ireland this year!
